The glass artwork Textile is made of many small rods of glass. After I have laid the pattern of more than 1000 rods of glass, the glass artwork goes into the glass kiln for the first time, for 24 hours. In the meantime I make a mold to give the glass artwork its final shape.
Once the work has cooled down completely, it is put back in the glass kiln on top of the mould. After 24 hours I can take the work out of the kiln again to view the final work.
Because I have partially used transparent glass, this work of art is a feast for the eyes as soon as it is in the sun. So make sure you have a sunny or bright spot!
