The glass artwork More than Textile is made of small rods of glass. With this artwork I have placed a different pattern on the top and bottom. This allows you to place the glass artwork as you wish. Very high, so you can see the darker bottom well, or low or at eye level, so you can see the slightly brighter colors on the inside.
After I have laid the pattern of more than 1500 rods of glass, the glass artwork goes into the glass kiln for the first time, for 24 hours. In the meantime I make a mold to give the glass artwork its final shape.
Once the work has cooled down completely, it is put back in the glass kiln on top of the mould. After 24 hours I can take the work out of the kiln again to view the final work.
Because I have partially used transparent glass, this work of art is a feast for the eyes as soon as it is in the sun. So make sure you have a sunny or bright spot!
