A Crazy World

The glass artwork: A Crazy World is made of pattern bars. Pattern bars are several long lengths of glass in different colors about 2 cm wide that are stacked on top of each other and then go into the kiln for the first time so they fuse together. Then they are sawn into pieces of about 2 cm, so that you get blocks of 2 x 2 cm. These blocks again find their way into the kiln, in a previously devised pattern. The empty space in the pattern causes the glass cubes to fall over in these empty spaces, forming a new glass plate. As soon as the glass plate comes out of the kiln, it is sawn into strips of about 1 cm, after which they go into the kiln for the last time, again in a pattern that creates the final glass artwork.
This work of art is finished with a black glass plate on the underside.
